Setting Up a Simple Test.

If you want to set up a simple test to gauge whether your hearing is improving there is a very simple way to do it.
I used my mobile ringtones.
I would find a quiet time in the day, when I was alone, go and sit in the bathroom, and listen to the ringtones on my phone. I marked down which tones I could hear well and which I couldn't and at what volume. Then I would go back periodically and check to see if they'd been any improvement.
I was very eager for encouragement so I would check it every day but once a week would be quite enough!
Alternatively, if you're like me and you watch dvd's with the subtitles on then go back and watch them again every now and then. You might find you hear the background noises (phone's ringing, machines beeping etc) before the subtitles tell you are there!
Progress might be slow. I believe that this kind of hearing loss has happened slowly over a number of years so it's perfectly possible that it may take more years to fix it so don't loose heart. If you believe, like I do, that your hearing loss is in someway related to the food we eat please leave a comment, message me at dawnshearingnow@googlemail.com, leave a donation, buy my e-book or do some experiementing yourself and tell us your results.

  1. This is an excellent blog! For doing rough testing of your hearing, try the RNID hearing test app for your Iphone. It's not perfect by any means, but will be a little more accurate that the current test you are doing.

    Keep up the excellent work
